Still in evidence are the trademark shifting layers of sonic ambience and the driving rhythms used to great effect on previous CDs. Here, they return, with a subtle difference. Where before the percussion was an express train rushing through a lush auditory landscape, in Lifesounds they present themselves as stones skipping across waves of sound.
